Universal grinder "Whirlwind -2" is used for grinding dry grass, straw, alfalfa, reeds, corn stalks, fresh greens, crushing grains... for subsequent granulations.

The long-term, high productivity of the chopper is achieved due to the design of the three-dimensional knife, which includes 180 cutters with sharp pobedite tips (this is not a piece of sharpened spring). The main part of them is assembled in 6 sections and distributed every 10 mm in height.
The remaining cutting segments are located on the upper plane of the knife - they provide initial grinding.

With a knife diameter of 290 mm and 2850 revolutions, we have a linear cutting speed of 44 m/sec - a good indicator for a household shredder (recommended 30-105 m/sec).
It is worth noting that it is the tips of the knife that have the specified speed and confidently cut, cutting not only hay, straw, but also tough alfalfa. A perforated steel sheet with a thickness of 2 mm is used as a sieve. It provides the necessary rigidity and durability during intensive use of the unit. Perforation of 5 mm ensures the declared performance and the possibility of using the obtained sieve for granulation.

The unit can be equipped with electric with 2.2 kW engines for both single-phase - 220V and 3-phase networks.

The output of the cutting unit has a flange on which a polyethylene sleeve is put on to collect cuttings. When working with greens and vegetables, the sieve is removed, because it is filled with wet, crushed mass. See the resulting fractions in photo 3.
