It is characterized by high frost resistance, tolerates frosts up to -30ºС in a dry winter, with strong wind and the absence of snow cover.
Canadian winter wheat is resistant to abiotic stresses — it tolerates significant temperature changes in the spring.
Fully developed plants withstand frosts up to -35ºС.
The variety is drought-resistant, tolerates summer temperatures up to +40ºС.
Wheat is resistant to soil salinity.
Has a stable tolerance to all known fungal diseases of wheat and viruses affecting common varieties. Of the diseases, such as powdery mildew, root rot, wheat bacteriosis, snow mold, bordered and reticulate spot, dwarf rust, dusty or false powdery mildew, black and stone mildew, ergot, stem melanosis, septoriosis, fusarium should be mentioned separately.
The high productivity of Canadian winter wheat is achieved due to the large ear and bushiness coefficient.
The variety is resistant to lodging and shedding, germination of grains in the ear.
