MECHANISM AND SPECTRUM OF ACTION:
ASTREL PLUS® CE destroys annual dicotyledonous and grass weeds before their seedlings appear, preventing competition with cultivated plants. The drug acts both on seedlings and on weeds germinating from seeds, mainly being absorbed through the root system and the first leaves of weeds, as a result of which the seedling twists and dies. Terbuthylazine, which is part of the herbicide ASTREL PLUS® CE, affects the photosynthesis of plants, blocking the transport of electrons in the cell of weeds, acetochlor affects the synthesis of proteins and fatty acids, which leads to the death of weeds.
ASTREL PLUS® SE, due to the combination of two active substances, controls a wide range of annual weeds, including those resistant to
other herbicides, such as:
field mustard (Sinapis arvensis), common yellowwort (Senecio vulgaris), chamomile (Matricaria spp.), nightshade (Solanum nigrum), ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiaefolia) and others.
When using the drug in the recommended rate, thanks to the inclusion of a special antidote in the formulation, phytotoxicity is not observed on cultivated plants.
