The whole plant is used independently and as a whole as:
diuretic, choleretic, anti-inflammatory agent for urolithiasis, gout and rheumatism;
as expectorant and diaphoretic in tuberculosis, pneumonia, bronchitis and pleurisy;
as a sedative for headaches, hysteria, convulsions, epilepsy, nervous attacks, palpitations, insomnia;
for the treatment of cancer, removal of warts;
with spastic cough, whooping cough, scrofula and skin diseases, with enuresis.
Aqueous infusion of fragrant violet herb with rhizome and roots is used for bronchitis, lung inflammation, pulmonary tuberculosis, cystitis, urolithiasis and gallstone disease, urethritis, metabolic disorders, rheumatism.
Violet roots. Preparations from violet roots have expectorant, emetic, laxative, choleretic, antipyretic and sedative effects. Used for uterine cancer, jaundice in children. In the Caucasus - with fatigue and heart disease. A decoction of rhizomes is used for gargling with tonsillitis, stomatitis abscesses. They also lubricate the mucous membrane of the oral cavity in children with thrush, are used as a prophylactic agent for the flu.
Violet flowers and leaves. Flowers and leaves are used to prepare violet oil
oil, which is used for coughs, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, arthritis, inflammation of the oral mucosa, and as a sedative for headaches, stomachaches, and ulcers. It is used in the form of ointments for cancer, compaction and stiffness of joints and tendons, for anal tumors.
Violet flowers. Decoction and syrup are prescribed as an expectorant for bronchitis; emetic and laxative, anti-inflammatory, soothing for stomach diseases, pleurisy, pneumonia, suffocation, sedative for epilepsy, convulsions and neuroses; with thrush in children. Tincture - for cancer of the throat, larynx. An infusion of flowers is prescribed as an anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, sedative agent for inflammation of the lungs, convulsions, tinnitus, dizziness, and memory impairment.
Violet leaves. Decoction, infusion of violet leaves with honey is prescribed for cough, chronic pharyngitis, gastric and intestinal diseases. Infusion is effective for malignant ulcers, cancer of the larynx, throat, tongue, infusion or decoction for stomach cancer. Fresh crushed leaves, compresses from steamed leaves, poultices — for benign and malignant tumors, edema, purulent wounds, boils, dermatoses.

In Bulgarian folk medicine, fragrant violet is used for the treatment of skin rashes, as a diuretic for sand and stones in the kidneys and bladder. Boiled leaves are applied to purulent wounds, boils, swellings, inflamed areas of the skin, etc.
Recipes
A decoction of the plant - 30 g in 1 liter of water - is used as a diuretic and hypoglycemic agent that cleanses the renal pelvis, treats gout and polyarthritis.
To increase the effectiveness of the diuretic and choleretic action of fragrant violets, it is mixed with crushed pods of
common beans, leaves of common gorse, corn stigmas, common sedge grass, and birch buds (all equally). Two tablespoons of this mixture are insisted on 2-4 glasses of boiling water for 20 minutes. Настой принимают по 2-3 столовые ложки 3 раза в день.
Decoction of whole plants
30 g of fresh raw material or 10 g per 1 liter of water is taken orally for kidney and bladder stones as a means that "crushes" them into sand, as well as as a diuretic, cleansing the renal pelvis, treating gout and rheumatism.
Cough syrup
add 1 teaspoon of fresh or dry flowers and leaves to 0.5 l of boiling water and insist for 12 hours. Then add 400 g of sugar and evaporate to a syrupy consistency. Take 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.
Fragrant violet tea: pour 2 teaspoons of the herb with 1 glass of water, bring to a boil and insist for 5 minutes. After straining, drink a cup 2-3 times a day (sweeten with honey when coughing). Для полосканий и кожных примочек применять неразбавленным.
In folk medicine, fragrant violet tea is used for blood purification and for dry bronchitis. In the latter case, syrup is preferable.
Fragrant violet syrup: put 1 full cup of fresh violet herb in a bottle, pour 1/4 liter of hot water into it and leave for a day, then strain. The strained liquid is drained, heated to boiling, a new portion (1 full cup) of violet flowers is added and again left for 24 hours. After filtering, the resulting infusion is mixed with honey in equal parts and given to children 1 teaspoon each for cough. Sometimes violet flowers are prescribed as a means to calm the nerves. They should be very fresh, and they should be eaten with orange jam.
Sebastian Kneipp strongly recommended violet for cough and lung diseases, for shortness of breath and dizziness, for sore throat (as a gargle); for gout (bumps at the base of the big toe joint) he suggested a decoction of violets in vinegar as a compress.
