Zolotokolosa
Soft winter wheat
Originator:
Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Myronovsky Wheat Institute named after V. M. Remesla UAAS.
Listed in the State Register of plant varieties for 2006.
Biological signs:
A variety of short-stemmed, high-intensity type, medium-early. Highly resistant to lodging, powdery mildew and brown leaf rust, runoff, germination and grain shedding in the ear. Resistant to drought. Winter hardiness is above average. Variety - erythrospermum.

Grain quality:
Flour milling and baking properties are good and excellent.
Grain variety Golden ear contains 12.7-14.5% protein, 29.7-32.7% crude gluten, flour strength 328-343 a. a., the volume of bread from 100 g of flour is 1000-1110 ml, the overall assessment of the baking properties is 4.2-4.5 points. Referred to strong wheats.
Economic signs:
A variety for good owners. Against a high background of mineral nutrition, it provides record harvests. According to the originator (IFRG of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine) in the years of testing (2000-2004), the average yield of Zolotokolosai was 86.1 t/ha (including 112.4 t/ha in 2004), which is 20.0 t/ha higher than the yield of the national standard. During 2 years of environmental testing at the Kirovohrad State Regional Variety Testing Station, the yield of the Zolotokolosa variety amounted to 82.4 and 100.9 t/ha, which exceeded the standard by 4.7 and 11.6 t/ha, respectively. The grain yield in the State variety study in 44 variety trials amounted to 52.6-117.3 t/ha. Substantial increases in the yield of the national standard Golden-eared variety - 5.9-63.9 t/ha were obtained in 35 variety trials, incl. increases of 10.0-63.9 t/ha - in 32 variety tests, 17 regions of Ukraine, which cover the Steppe, Forest Steppe and Polesia zones (Odessa, Zaporizhia, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Cherkassy, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Ternopil, Rivne, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Transcarpathian).
Agrotechnical requirements:
Cultivation technology is common as for high-intensity varieties. The variety needs, reacts well and withstands high levels of mineral nutrition, forming high yields on them. To ensure high grain yields, it is also necessary to protect plants from pests and diseases, especially after throwing out the ear, with fungicides such as falcon or fol and chicken.
In order to obtain high-quality grain, it is necessary to carry out a third feeding with dry nitrogen fertilizers or foliar fertilizing with urea N10-15 in the earing phase - milky maturity.
Sowing rate
seeds - 5.5-6.0 million germinated grains per 1 ha depending on the moisture supply zone. Sow in the second half of optimal terms.
