Orzhitsa was grown by the Institute of Agriculture of the Steppe Zone of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine together with the Poltava Institute of APV named after N.Y. Vavilov of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Relatively recently, the hybrid was registered in the state register, namely in 2010.
The Orzhitsa hybrid is distinguished by its high resistance to stem brittleness, lodging and does not have bushiness, it can reach a height of 250-260 cm.(//tractor-service.com)
This hybrid forms a beginning (in the shape of a cylinder), on average one beginning has 16-18 rows, usually one row includes approximately 34-36 grains, the size of the beginning is approximately 20-21 cm. The beginnings themselves are located no lower than 80-90 cm from the ground.Grain in Orzhitsa is siliceous-dentate type and has an orange-red color.
Orzhitsa hybrid is recommended to be grown in steppe zones, forest-steppes and forests. Has high resistance to drought. It gives off moisture perfectly, immediately before harvesting the crop itself.
The average potential yield of the hybrid is 110-120 t/ha.
