COMMANDER spring barley, brewed.

The variety has been included in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2007.

Variety "nutans". High germination energy, presence of extractive substances (82%), filminess (7-8%), and low protein content (13%) allow the variety to be used in the brewing industry. The variety has high bushiness and levelness. The bush is semi-erect, the stem is short, strong. The height of the plant is 68-78 cm. The leaf is pubescent, green. The ear is two-rowed, semi-straight, long (8-10 cm), unbreakable, not dense (9-10 segments per 4 cm of the spike shaft), well-grained (23-28 grains in an ear), has a long first segment; the color of the ear is straw-yellow, the shape is pyramidal.

The spines are long, almost parallel, thin, elastic, jagged.

Grain elliptic shaped, straw-yellow,grain levelness 96%. A variety of intensive type, medium-ripe. Vegetation period - 80-90 days. The direction of use is grain.

The variety is characterized by: (according to the 10-point system) high productivity (7-8 points) drought tolerance (7-9 points) resistance to lodging (7-9 points) high resistance to shedding (7-9 points) high resistance to diseases (7-9 points) - powdery mildew, dwarf rust, helminthosporiosis (9 points), resistance to volatile, black and stone soot (7 points); responsive to the application of fertilizer (application of ammonium nitrate 180-200 kg/ha increases productivity by 10-15 t/ha). Agricultural machinery is common for the growing area. Fertilizer must be applied. Pickling seeds provides reliable protection of plants against diseases. A delay in sowing for 5-10 days leads to a shortfall of the harvest by 7-9 t/ha. The potential yield was 55.1 t/ha.
