Barley (BARLEY) HUMBER winter barley variety, developed on the basis of nano-technology, known by the Canadian SERTIS Holding, the American chemical concern DOW CHEMICAL, a nano-modified transgenic barley variety, is used for food purposes for groats, for cattle feed. It was scientifically developed in Canada in 2015. It underwent varietal tests for frost resistance in the harsh climate of Canada, in the northern agricultural provinces of Ontario, Manitoba, Yukon, Alberta, Nanawut, where the average winter air temperature in January was 47 C*, in the same conditions it showed excellent results in terms of yield in 2015. 4) It has stable immunity to all fungal diseases of barley and to viruses affecting common varieties of barley such as (root rot, bacteriosis, powdery mildew, snow mold, rhynchosporiosis, dwarf rust, reticulated and bordered spotting, dusty and false dusty (black) main and stone main, black spotted bacteriosis, septoriosis, fusarium head blight, Russian mosaic striped mosaic, etc.) and is not affected by these diseases.
5) It is characterized by resistance to highly saline soils due to isolated genes from the DNA structure of cryobiont algae, which lives in Glauber's soda lakes with an increased concentration of salts in the water of 285 g/l and with a predominance of table salt of 347 g/l, ideally grows on salt marshes.

This variety of Canadian barley was sown in Ukraine in 2016 and showed good yield results.
