Name
VIROCID
Name (Latin)
Virocid
Composition and form of release
Highly concentrated, polycomposite disinfectant with a foaming formula Virocid as active ingredients contains quaternary ammonium bases: diethyldimethylammonium chloride 78 g/l; ammonium alkyldimethylbenzyl chloride 170.6 g/l, glutaraldehyde 107.25 g/l, isopropanol 150 g/l, cedar oil: 20 g/l. In appearance, the drug is a transparent brown liquid with a weak specific smell, easily mixes with water in any ratio. The drug is produced in canisters of 5 liters and 10 liters.
Pharmacological properties
Virocide has a wide range of action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including vegetative and spore forms), viruses, fungi, yeasts, molds and algae. The concentration of active ingredients is 522 g/l. The innovative formula of the disinfectant, which includes nonionic surfactants, wetting and complexing additives, allows the disinfectant to work in extremely difficult conditions involving the presence of organic pollutants, ultraviolet radiation, low temperatures and water with a hardness of up to 400 ppm (400 mg/l of calcium salts). However, the disinfectant is very economical to use. It is characterized by careful treatment of treated surfaces, high stability and safety in use. His working solutions are neutral and non-aggressive.
Indications
Virocide is used for preventive and forced disinfection of objects of veterinary and sanitary supervision (including livestock, poultry and animal breeding premises), technological equipment located in them, auxiliary objects (including hatcheries, egg warehouses), sanitary and technical equipment, containers and overalls; means of transport (including road, rail, water and air transport used for transporting animals and poultry, as well as raw materials and products of animal origin).
Doses and method of application.
Disinfection with working solutions of Virocida is carried out by a wet (irrigation, wiping, immersion) or aerosol method. The essential oils included in the composition of the preparation provide good fog-forming properties during aerosol application, improve the uniformity of processing and the quality of adhesion to the surface. Application by the aerosol method, using fog generators, allows in a short time to uniformly treat large rooms with minimal labor costs. And thanks to its good foaming properties, Virocid can be applied using any foam-generating equipment, which facilitates control of the treatment process and increases the duration of contact of the working solution with the surface.
Disinfection of livestock and poultry premises and technological equipment in the absence of animals
Before disinfection, mechanical cleaning of the treated premises should be carried out, as well as degreasing of the surface: after mechanical cleaning, wash the surface with detergents and dry. Apply a 0.25–0.5% solution of Virocid. Consumption of working solution 1 l. on 4 m². Exposure after application 30 minutes.
For volume disinfection of the premises by the aerosol method, use a 20–25% solution of Virocida at the rate of 1 liter. concentrate of the product per 1000 m³.
Disinfection in hatcheries
Incubation equipment is disinfected with a 0.5% solution of Virocid. For surface treatment, you can use any of the convenient methods: with the help of foam-generating equipment, irrigation, wiping, spray treatment. The average consumption of the working solution is 1 liter per 4 m².
For volumetric disinfection of premises, use a 5% solution of Virocida at the rate of 20 ml of working solution per 1 m³.
A 0.25%–0.5% solution of Virocid is used for disinfection of
an incubation egg by the method of irrigation. Processing of the surface of the shell is carried out until it is fully moistened, avoiding temperature fluctuations. Exposure 20 minutes.

Incubation egg can also be processed in a disinfection chamber with the help of "cold fog" generators. A 10% solution of Virocida at the rate of 20 ml/m³ is used.
Refueling of debarriers and dezmats
A 1-3% solution of Virocida is used. Replacement of the working solution is carried out according to contamination. In the cold season, at negative air temperatures, it is recommended to use antifreeze additives based on propylene glycol, alcohol-containing additives (up to 40%), calcium chloride or table salt (up to 10–15%).
Disinfection of vehicles
A foam cleaning agent is applied to the water-moistened surfaces to be treated. After a 5-minute exposure, the active foam is washed off with water under medium pressure. After washing by spray, irrigation or foam generation, a solution of Virocida with a concentration of 0.25–0.5% is applied. A 1% concentration (1:100) is used for washing wheels.
For disinfection in veterinary clinics, a 0.25-0.5% solution of the drug is used by spraying, foam generation, or rubbing.
When disinfecting instruments: the instrument is soaked in a 2% washing solution for 10 minutes, rinsed with water and placed in a 0.5–1% solution of Virocida so that the surface is completely covered with the disinfectant solution. Exposure 30 minutes. Rinse the instrument with distilled water.
It is recommended to use a mechanical aerosol generator to sanitize the volume of the room in the presence of animals and birds. Treatment must be carried out with a 0.5% solution of Virocida. The consumption rate is 2–5 ml of working solution per 1 m³. To improve the spread of fog, glycerin can be added to the working solution at the rate of 5–10% of the total volume. Processing should be carried out with the ventilation turned off. If it is impossible to completely turn off the ventilation or create airtight conditions in the room, the volume of the working solution can be increased to 25 ml per 1 m³.
Side effects
The product has a local irritating effect on the skin and mucous membranes of the eyes and has a sensitizing effect.
Contraindications
Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Personal instructions
Pregnant and lactating women, persons younger than 18 years old and those with contraindications for working with disinfectants are not allowed to work with the disinfectant. All work with Virocid and its working solutions must be carried out in special clothing: a cotton suit or gown, rubber gloves, a hat, a respirator and safety glasses. Eating, drinking and smoking are prohibited during work. When preparing working solutions, you should avoid dusting and getting the powder on the skin, eyes, and respiratory organs. At the end of the work, the face and hands should be washed with warm water and soap, the mouth should be rinsed with water.
Storage conditions
It is recommended to store the product separately from medicinal products, in places inaccessible to children. The shelf life is 3 years, provided that it is stored in the manufacturer's unopened packaging at a temperature of 5°C to 35°C.
