Lychnis belongs to the family Carnations. The botanical name "lychnis" translates as "lamp". This bright flower is popularly called a "hot flower" or a "star". Lychnis kronchatyy outwardly has nothing in common with the popular Zorka. It has silver-gray leaves, curved shoots and elegant raspberry flowers. Varieties with white or pink flowers have been bred. Individual flowers continue to light up on an ashen background.
