Entered into the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 1998. Originator - KHNAU named after V.V. Dokuchaeva
The stem is strong, upright, up to 105-130 cm high, irregularly rounded. The leaves are green, there is no pubescence. The inflorescence is a semi-compact, compact panicle, light green, yellow when ripe. The seeds are round-oval in shape, white in color. The variety is resistant to lodging and shedding. Early ripening. The vegetation period of "Ultra" amaranth is 87-93 days.
The seed yield is 14 t/ha. The oil content in the seeds is up to 5%. The oil contains squalene 11.25%, tocopherols - 0.28%.
Amaranth "Ultra" is a spring-type culture, and after harvesting, carrion does not sprout in the spring.
"Ultra" amaranth is the only variety in world practice whose biochemical indicators meet the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. Products of grain processing (oil,flour,starch, lysine) are highly valued in pharmaceutical, medical and preventive, dietary nutrition, cosmetology, feed production.
