The monograin rations of farm animals and poultry contain an insufficient amount of calcium - the most important component of the ration. Its purpose: the construction of bone tissue, participation in the regulation of blood reactions, especially in blood clotting, influence on the excitability of muscle and nervous tissues.
Calcium is an activator of the enzyme system, contributes to the growth and development of the young organism, helps to increase the fertility of the queens, the viability of the offspring, milk productivity, and also stimulates the egg productivity of the birds. Deficiency of calcium is replenished, as a rule, due to calcium-containing compounds. The main source of calcium is fodder chalk (Са СО3).
