Mustard is the fastest and cheapest siderat in Ukrainian crop rotation.White mustard (Sinapis alba) — universal: siderate, cover crop, honeydew; in 35–45 days, it increases 20–30 t/ha of green mass, suppresses weeds, and improves the soil.

Which gives the field:
• tap root up to 1 m loosens the subsoil layer and raises phosphorus and potassium from the lower horizons;
• glucosinolates in the green mass suppress pathogens of root rot, nematodes and wireworm;
• plowing 20–25 t/ha of green mass in terms of organic matter is equivalent to 15–20 t/ha of manure and gives 40–60 kg/ha of nitrogen to the next crop.

Technology: siderat is sown from April to the end of August, most often - after the winter ear crops in July-August, while there is moisture. The norm is 15–25 kg/ha (spreading — up to 30), depth 2–3 cm, after sowing — rolling. They earn during budding — at the beginning of flowering, 2–4 weeks before sowing the next crop.
Mustard is a cabbage crop: do not sow it before or after rape, cabbage or oil radish.
