Elderberry bark is used in the form of a decoction as a diuretic, hypotensive agent, as well as for kidney and skin diseases; baths - for polyarthritis, rheumatism; in a complex collection (thick extract); locally - with eczema.
The bark is used as a strong laxative, emetic and diuretic. It is especially valuable that the diuretic property of the bark is manifested selectively, without affecting the activity of the heart and without changing blood pressure.
A decoction of elderberry bark is a strong diuretic and gives good results in renal and cardiac edema. Leaves boiled in milk are used for hemorrhoids, boils, burns, boils, sprains, and internal fractures.
Recipes
Black elderberry - for edema, renal edema, inflammatory diseases of the kidneys
Pour 500 ml of 6–8 grams of bark. boiling water in a thermos, insist 5–6 hours, strain. Take 1/2 cup 5-6 times a day.
With rheumatism

Pour 2 handfuls (medium) of crushed bark with 1 liter of boiling water, simmer over low heat until half the volume evaporates, infuse for 15 minutes, strain. Drink the decoction within an hour, in 3 doses, in the morning on an empty stomach.
Decoction of bark and shoots. In diabetes, as a diuretic in edemas of various origins.
Mix an equal amount of elderberry bark. Pour 30 grams of the mixture with 1 liter of boiling water, simmer over low heat for 5 minutes, infuse for 40 minutes, strain. Take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day.

Pour 1/4 liter of cold water with 2 teaspoons (without top) of crushed bark, heat to boiling and quickly strain. Drink the entire dose in small sips during the day.
Contraindications:
It is contraindicated to use fresh fruits of black elderberry - it can cause diarrhea, vomiting, and even severe poisoning if you eat a lot of them.
Fresh shoots are also toxic, and the roots and bark of the plant can provoke an inflammatory process of the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines - at high doses.
Fresh berries and flowers contain a toxic substance (amygdalin), which turns into hydrocyanic acid. But toxins are destroyed when raw materials are dried, so dried berries, flowers, and leaves are not dangerous.
Black elderberry in any form is contraindicated for pregnant and nursing mothers.
It is contraindicated to useelder for chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, non-specific ulcerative colitis and diabetes insipidus (anuria).
