Mastic is a ready-to-use material made from a mixture of petroleum bitumen modified with synthetic rubber, mineral fillers and an organic solvent.
Applies to:
- Arrangement of external waterproofing in 1 layer;
- Installation of new roofs using a reinforcing layer of fiberglass or glass mesh;
- Repair of old roofs using a reinforcing layer of fiberglass or glass mesh;
- Bonding of bituminous roll materials;(//tractor-service.com)
- Gluing polystyrene foam and roofing felt;
- Anti-corrosion protection of metal surfaces.
The range of application temperatures is from -20°C to +40°C.
Before using the mastic, the working surface is treated with a primer.
It is recommended to apply the mastic to the surface with brushes, a spatula or in bulk, leveling it.
When used at low ambient temperatures, for ease of application, it is recommended to keep the mastic in a warm room for at least 12 hours or dilute it with an organic solvent to the required consistency, but not more than 8% of the mass.
