In the agriculture of many countries, it is successfully used for feeding valuable breeds
birds, industrial fish farming and other areas, for which EFSA approvals and recommendations are available.
The larva of the Black Lioness is a valuable source of animal proteins, rich in amino acids (there are 19 of them, including 9 essential ones), minerals, especially calcium (5-7%), potassium (0.5-1.2%), phosphorus (0.8-1.5%), as well as Na, Fe, Zn, Mg, Mn, etc.
Protein content in dry form reaches 60-70%, fat - 15-25%.
Especially valuable in this larva is the unique ratio of calcium to phosphorus, which is from 2.5:1 to 5:1, which solves the problem of lack of calcium in the diet, as well as the high content of natural biopolymer and polysaccharide chitin, which is part of the shell of insects and is especially valuable in the diet of hedgehogs.
The dry larva of the black lionfish retains all valuable nutritional properties - at the same time, it is safe, convenient to store and use, besides, 1 kg of dry larva contains 3-4 times more than live larvae.
If necessary, grinding and/or soaking before feeding is allowed.
