Gabion section, Dnipropetrovsk region.

Modern construction actively uses developments and achievements from others industries During construction or repair work, natural materials that bring natural features to the building are becoming especially popular. Gabions allow such an opportunity to be realized. For the first time, their use is mentioned back in the days of Ancient Egypt, when the shoreline of the Nile River was being strengthened. The structure is a metal cage with different types of filler and is used as a decorative fence.
Features of the construction of gabions
The operational properties of gabions depend on the quality of the metal mesh. If it is made of a simple wire, then under the influence of the atmosphere and the pressure of the filler, it may simply not withstand the load, and the mesh will quickly rust. High-quality gabions are made of hot-dip galvanized welded wire with a horizontal double bar. The rod can be of different diameters - 5/5/5, 6/5/6, 8/6/8 mm, depending on the client's preferences and design features. A galvanized column is a stabilizing element of the structure.
