Brand 10xsnd: general information, purpose and application
An iron-based alloy that combines carbon and other alloying elements is called steel. The maximum carbon content in carbon and low-alloyed steels is about 2%, high-alloyed steels have up to 2.5%. Low-alloyed and alloyed steels are divided by the 5% mark of metal alloying elements. To combat corrosion, steel alloys are subjected to special alloying (chromium, nickel, copper, phosphorus), careful and timely painting, galvanizing, and phosphating.
Steel 10khsnd (chrome-silica-nickel with copper) is a structural low-alloy steel. The percentage of carbon in the alloy is indicated by the number 10 (from 0.10 to 0.12%), the letters indicate the chemical elements in the composition of the brand: X - chromium, C - silicon, H - nickel, D - copper. Since the content of chromium (X), silicon (C), nickel (H) and copper (D) is extremely small, numbers are not placed after the letter.
Purpose: 10хснд is used for the manufacture of elements of welded metal structures and various parts with a mass limitation, which require increased strength and corrosion resistance and which operate at temperatures from -70 to +450ºС; in particular, engineering structures, bridge structures of simple and northern design.(//tractor-service.com)
Steel sheet of the 10xsnd brand is also required for the production of light-weight parts capable of working for a long time in conditions of elevated temperatures, vibration, corrosion, under pressure in vessels at temperatures from -40 to +400ºС: these are parts of steam boilers, collector installations, gas turbines.
This steel is quite strong, resistant to pressure. The strength limit of rolled sheet of this brand is from 510 to 685 MPa. It is used for the production of parts of pipeline fittings after quenching and tempering; as the main layer in the production of hot-rolled two-layer corrosion-resistant sheets. In addition to the listed highly specialized industries, 10xsnd is used in all spheres of industry.
This alloy is produced in the form of steel sheets (thin and thick) of the main GOSTs: GOCT 19281-2014, GOCT 19903–74, GOST 5521–93, GOCT 6713–91, GOCT 17066–94 and other standards. The thickness of the product can vary from 2 to 110 mm. The steel sheet of this brand is used for the production of forged blanks, forgings, shaped and graded rolled products, as well as for pipes of various diameters.
