Key material is a calibrated rolled metal intended for the manufacture of such connecting elements as keys. A key is an oblong pin that is inserted into the groove of the connected parts of the key joint. Moreover, keys can be used both in the creation of machines and mechanisms, and in the production of furniture, and even in construction. The scope of their use is quite wide. In the classic version, the key material is made of St45 steel. This is structural carbon steel of ordinary quality, which is traditionally used for the manufacture of high-strength parts and belongs to difficult-to-weld steels. Moreover, key material is delivered in accordance with GOST 8787-68, known as "Pure-drawn steel for keys", and the length of one bar of key material is 1 m.
