Candy is a hard dough-like food for bees, prepared from naturalhoney, powdered sugar or sugar syrup and powdered sugar with various additives. Candies are prepared according to approved technologies. Certain doses of medicinal preparations, bee stings are added to the therapeutic and prophylactic candy.

Candies are placed on the bottom of the hivehive or on the nesting frame in the form of cakes, as well as in the queen or shipping cells.

In recent years, candies have been widely used for spring and early-autumn growth of bee colonies. Candies cannot be replaced as medicinal fodder for preventive treatment of families in early spring. Feeding sugarcane families in the early spring period contributes to the replenishment of food reserves in the nest, provides families with water due to the use of condensate that forms on the film, increases the number of offspring and the strength of families.

In winter feeding, one of the main advantages of canda over syrup is that it does not excite the bees, as they use it directly, and not put it in the cells of the comb. Candy does not enhance the summer of bees, and hence the associated losses, especially in cold and rainy weather. Candies, placed in autumn above the bee club, are not only an additional source of food and water supply for bees in the winter period, but also its placement contributes to increased air exchange in the bee nest.
