Nautil® VG is a new addition to the "Bayer" line of fungicides for the fight against pathogens of the oomycetes group (phytophthora, false powdery mildew) and an additional effect against deuteromycetes (alternaria, spotting) onpotatoes, vegetable crops and grapes.

The mechanism of action of Nautil® VG:

Cymoxanil

slows down and disrupts the course of many metabolic processes of the pathogen
the spectrum of activity covers pathogens from the class of oomycetes (false powdery mildew, late blight).

Mankotseb
a typical representative of the family of polycarbamate fungicides with multiple contact action;
prevents the development of pathogens on the surface of the plant, is characterized by a high preventive effect.
as a representative of polycarbamates, has a multifaceted mechanism of influence on various organelles and various biochemical processes in the mycelium of the pathogen;
is an additional source of trace elements for plants, primarily manganese;
the spectrum of activity includes pathogens from the classes of oomycetes and imperfect fungi.

Application:

Nautil® VG is an important element of the anti-resistance strategy, since no strains of pathogens resistant to Cymoxanil have been identified to date. The presence of mancozeb, as a contact compound with multiple effects, also makes the risk of the emergence of resistant populations very low.

The main objects of action of Nautil® VG are late blight and false powdery mildew. However, the content of mancozeb provides an additional opportunity to reduce the pressure of Alternaria and increase the effectiveness of highly specialized drugs against this disease.

Also, treatment with Nautil® VG at the rate of 2.0 kg/ha provides plants with manganese in the amount of about 270 g/ha.

The use of the drug in the system of protection against late blight involves the interval before the next Nautil® VH spraying - from 7 to 14 days.

Nautil® VG, thanks to the local system of cymoxanil, is able to stop the development of the disease within 48 hours after inoculation. However, due to its limited mobility, the protection of newly formed parts of the plant is inferior to drugs of systemic action, that is, the best effect from the treatment is observed in the period when the active growth of the green mass has already stopped.

If the registered minimum rate of consumption is used, the interval before the next spraying should also be minimal.

Reducing the interval to the minimum and the maximum registered consumption rate is recommended under favorable conditions for the disease - rain, high infection pressure, a vulnerable variety or hybrid, etc.
