This is a purple version of Italian large leaf basil with very dark garnet-red leaves.(//tractor-service.com)
A beautiful, very strong aroma with a caramel undertone along with beautiful dark leaves and bright lavender-pink flowers make this basil an outstanding culinary and decorative variety.
Rich, dark purple leaves differ from other purple basils with their sweeter aroma and distinct caramel notes.
Caramel Chianta basil is more saturated in color than some other purple basils.
This is a multi-purpose variety that occupies one of the main places in bouquet gardens.
The leaves create an interesting contrast insalads, pasta dishes and excellentlyflavorize vinegar. The aroma goes well with fish, poultry, rice, all vegetables.
