One-row chain potato planter is designed for mechanized planting of potatoes. It is aggregated with motoblocks and mototractors with a power of 6 hp or more.

The principle of operation of the potato planter

The drive of the landing mechanism is actuated from the support wheels through the drive shaft. Revolutions from the drive shaft are transmitted to the landing mechanism through a chain transmission, which is equipped with a roller tensioner. The tensioner is necessary to prevent chain sag after adjusting the landing pitch. Adjustment is made by moving the chain to additional sprockets.

Landing mechanism

The landing mechanism uses a PR-12.7-18.2 drive chain (98 chain links, "Ant"), 12 baskets with a diameter of 50 mm are installed on it.

The hopper for potatoes with a capacity of 20 liters is made of sheet steel with a thickness of 0.8 mm.

The keel-shaped opener of the potato planter is made of sheet steel with a thickness of 2 mm. The keel of the coulter is reinforced, the thickness is 3 mm.

To wrap the planted potatoes and create a soil ridge, adjustabledisc mounders with a diameter of 275 mm and a thickness of 2 mm are installed on a frame made of a steel corner 32 × 32 × 3 mm. Smooth and reliable rotation of each disc is provided by a pair of 202 bearings.

Towing unit

Depending on the model of the traction unit, the potato planter can be equipped with various attachments. The hitch is attached to a special bracket using bolted connections. To ensure stable operation of the potato planter on uneven ground, the bracket is fixed on a movable sleeve.
