Кипарисовик Лавсона представляет собой хвойное, вечнозелёное дерево, близкое к
juniper. It belongs to the cypress family. Cypress is a monoecious plant with a crown in the form of a cone and drooping needle-like or scale-like branches, which, together with boxwood plants, can become an excellent way to organize a hedge. The trunk has brown or dark gray bark. Cypress is quite frost-resistant and is excellent for planting without special skills. Thanks to this, cypress trees are often used to decorate areas, decorate front gardens and well-kept Moorish lawns without worrying about frost resistance. In our climate, a cypress usually grows up to 3 meters in height.
For the cultivation of
cypress light soil is taken from the seeds - it can be sown immediately in the soil on the site or in containers and the seedlings will grow at home. Then the seeds will need stratification in a cold room or in the vegetable compartment of the refrigerator. Planting in open ground is done in autumn. You can take containers with crops outside and bury them in the snow, and in the spring bring them indoors and warm them up. At a temperature of +23 ºC, the seeds begin to germinate quickly, after which they are transferred to a bright place protected from direct sunlight. Care for seedlings consists of regular moderate watering and weeding (if necessary). Then they are gradually hardened, planted in the ground and left to winter with shelter.
About winter tree transplanting.
(//tractor-service.com)
When a tree is transplanted, part of the root system dies, but in winter life processes are slowed down, there are no leaves, and evaporation is minimal. In winter, the tree seems to sleep, and the stress after transplanting is reduced to zero. After being transplanted in the summer, it is difficult for a tree to restore lost moisture, so it is more painless for a tree to be transplanted in the winter, when moisture losses are minimal.
