Brake tape СШ20.38.021 consists of a spring steel tape (steel 65G) to which a friction pad is attached with rivets. The ends of the tape are bent in the form of loops and riveted to the main fabric. One end of the brake tape is fixed in the left sleeve T16.38.102 with a finger of the tape DSSH14.38.109B, placed in the small holes of the upper tide of the sleeve and fixed with a cotter pin. The second end of the tape is connected by the axis of the left brake lever T16.38.107 with the lever of the tape DSSH14.38.104-1. The tape lever is mounted on the axis of the left brake lever and fixed on it with a washer and a tension bolt. On the outer end of the axis of the right brake lever, the left traction lever T16.38.116-1.
The brake band СШ20.38.021 with a friction pad covers the brake pulley 7.38.103 in an arc of 290 degrees. In the released state, a gap of 1-1.5 mm is formed between the friction pad of the brake belt and the rim of the brake pulley. The design of the right and left brakes is the same.
