Zenga-Zengana is a very old and most common variety of German breeding, bred in 1954. A late ripening variety.
The bush is vigorous, compact, well leafy, has a weak self-forming ability.
Berries large (average weight 9.3 g), non-uniform shape: wedge-shaped, round-conical, often clumsy, becoming smaller at the end of fruiting; color from intense to dark red, leveled over the entire surface. The seeds are yellow, immersed in the pulp.
The pulp is intense red, juicy, medium density, good taste, very aromatic. The peduncle is well separated.
As a result of the extended fruiting period, the plants are strongly affected by gray rot and white spotting of the leaves, however, they are quite resistant to diseases of the root system.
The variety is very frost-resistant. In severe frosts, with low snow cover, the survival rate of bushes is high, such bushes recover very quickly and start fruiting without losses.

Transportability of berries is average.
A variety of universal purpose. Very good for making compotes and jellies. Despite the fact that Zenga Zengana was bred more than half a century ago, this variety is still extremely popular for growing products for industrial processing and freezing.
