The breed is characterized by increased wax productivity of bees.
In the spring, families quickly build up strength, intensively using early spring honey collection, and maintain it throughout the summer. This feature of Carpathian bees is used for the production of early packages of bees.
Bees are distinguished by high productivity on the main bait (in this they surpass other breeds) and a "dry" sealhoney, mostly white, sometimes mixed. Pollination of nests is weak.
Less prone to swarming than other breeds, non-aggressive and peace-loving (almost the whole season the family can be inspected without a face net and a chimney); slightly affected by nosematosis.
The breed is recognized as one of the best, recommended for breeding in many areas with a variety of grass-clover-buckwheat honey collection.
The main feature is high productivity. Despite the average bearing capacity of the uterus, a Carpathian family can produce 50 kilograms of honey in one season, and this is only an average statistical result. With a good bribe, the Carpathian breed of bees can give up to 80 kilograms of honey per family per season.
