Koragen is a new-generation insecticide, characterized by a unique mechanism of action and a high level of effectiveness against a wide range of pests belonging to the class of Lepidoptera (moths, fruit borers, leafhoppers), Isoptera (California scale beetle) and Coleoptera (Colorado beetle).

In Ukraine, the drug is registered against the following pests:
Apple tree: apple moths, apple fruit rot, leaf beetles;

The mechanism of action of the drug
The main effect of the insecticide occurs when Coragen enters the stomachs of insects, as well as due to contact action (through the cuticle). The ryanidin-receptor genes are activated, which plays the main role in muscle contraction. After taking this insecticide, the release of internal calcium reserves from the muscles of the pest is activated (the receptor causes the receptor channel to open for a longer period of time). The uncontrolled release of calcium ions contributes to a sharp decrease in its internal reserves in the body. As a result, the pest loses the ability to contract muscles, paralysis occurs instantly. Studies were conducted that showed that Koragen is able to control the number of apple fruit rot at different stages of development in several ways.
1. The ovicidal effect of the drug depends on the processing time and also on the density of the pest population. The strongest ovicidal effect is observed when using Koragen before the start of egg laying or after egg laying, but before the black head phase.
2. The ovi-larvicidal effect of the insecticide is observed when only the hatched larva gnaws the surface of the egg treated with the drug. As a result, there is an instant intoxication of the larva of the apple fruit fly, which dies over time, does not have time to hatch from the egg, or dies immediately after hatching.
