Chickpea Triumf was obtained at the Selection and Genetic Institute of the National Center for Seed Development and Sorting (Odessa) by the method of individual selection from a hybrid combination of varieties from the collection of SGI-NCSS (Ukraine): No. 293 (India) x No. 3428 (local form, Odessa).

Biological features: mid-ripe variety, growing season 70-97 days. The bush is upright, 33-62 cm high. Anthocyanin coloration is absent. The leaves are small. The flowers are white. The seeds are beige, the shape is from round to angular, the ribbing is medium. The weight of 1000 seeds is 290-422 grams. The seeds are large.
