PERRY belt dryer ideal suitable for drying almost any non-loose product or more granular products that require a lower throughput. Popular applications include biomass, anaerobic digestate, grass and seeds.
The PERRY belt dryer is ideal for the following materials:
- miscanthus and bagasse
- plants
- combinable cultures
- beans and soybeans
- flakes
corns
- seed material
-
grass seeds
- Orekhov
-
fruits and fruit slices, orange peels
- wood chips, wood shavings, wood pellets, sawdust
- small wet chips
- biomass straws
- feed pellets
- crushed recycled material
- cotton waste
- cellulose granules
- solid shredded waste
- extruded animal feed
- granulated and crushed plastic
- bird droppings
- sewage sludge and digestate
Traditional drying of these types of material was achieved by drum dryers, however, this method has many disadvantages, including:
- high risk of fire due to the average temperature of 426oС
- lumping of products
- potentially volatile emissions that may require additional permits.
- not suitable for heat recovery due to their higher operating temperature
The PERRY belt dryer overcomes all of the problems listed above and, at the same time, is more cost-effective due to the lower operating temperature and the possibility of recovering spent heat.
Drying of biomass:
It is very likely that your biomass materials need to be reduced in moisture before they can be used to:
- to ensure optimal efficiency of heating the material, including a higher flame temperature
- to prevent incomplete combustion of fuel, leading to emissions of tar and creosote.
- to prevent pipe corrosion due to re-condensation of water
- to improve the efficiency of transportation and storage of material
Key characteristics of a belt (conveyor) dryer:
- fine-mesh drying tape
- fully galvanized construction of the belt dryer. Stainless steel is available as an option
- several heat sources are available, including biomass, steam, diesel, kerosene or gas
- PLC-panel with a touch screen with the possibility of connecting to the Internet
- leveling device
- modular construction of a belt (conveyor) dryer
(//tractor-service.com)
- rotating brush for cleaning the tape
- various options for the width of the belt (conveyor) dryer up to 3 meters are available.
- the cooling section is available as an option
Design of a belt (conveyor) dryer
The modular galvanized steel structure of the dryer is available in widths of 1.5 m, 2.2 m and 3 m. The length of the dryer can be increased in 1 m increments from 8.5 m to 38.5 m (including the drive and tension station). The total height of the belt (conveyor) dryer depends on the selected heat source.
Possible sources of heat
Heat exchangers. They are usually used if a heat source from biomass is available: for example, wood chip boilers for the production of hot water, or if a steam heat source is available.
If necessary, the dryer can be adapted to the Customer's existing heat exchanger.
Diesel or gas burners. If a separate heat source is required, a direct heating furnace with a diesel, kerosene, liquefied propane-butane or natural gas burner can be used.
As an alternative option, a heat exchanger with the same burner can be used for indirect heating if necessary.
Polymer woven tape
- antistatic mesh with interweaving of synthetics / bronze, which is well suited for dryers operating at low temperatures. Temperatures up to 130°С
- best suited for small / fine products that have a wide range of particle sizes, such as wood chips
- the fabric in the bronze wire constantly prevents the electrostatic discharge of the tape.
- the set has a high level of air permeability
- two separate rollers paving the way and two rotating cleaning brushes (one on the drive station and one on the tension station)
Options:
- a loading hopper, which can be used as a buffer hopper, to help the uniform supply of the product to the belt. This loading hopper will have a certain amount of loading screws depending on the selected width of the dryer. The bunker can be filled with the help of dump loading, holes, conveyors or screw conveyors.
- the panels of the belt (conveyor) dryer can be insulated along the drying section to improve heat preservation
- a completely closed casing can be built around the dryer to accommodate heat exchangers and fans. This is a structure with insulated wall panels and two access doors (one in the heating chamber and one in the cooling chamber)
PLC control panel
With our new app, available on iTunes and Google Play, you can control your dryer from anywhere in the world as long as there's a signal, meaning you don't have to be on the lookout, and you can also receive email and text alerts and updates sent directly to your phone to double check that everything's OK. (Requires connection of the panel to the Internet).
- 12" touch screen
- simple operation
- notification in simple Russian
- data recording of all displays, alarms and dryer status.
- the possibility of entering the moisture content during the day.
- automatic adjustment for different crops and moisture content
- the possibility of exporting all recorded conditions of dryer operation and moisture content to Excel and automatic creation of daily registration sheets
- fuel consumption calculator included for diesel dryers
Diagnostics
The dryer log and input and output data screens are recorded to show the current state of the panel to aid in troubleshooting.
Internet connection
Connect the panel to the Internet to enable:
- sending status reports to selected mobile numbers and e-mail addresses
- the ability to control or monitor the dryer remotely from any PC or tablet connected to the Internet
- the opportunity to download the entire dryer log and recorded data.
- remote connection by PERRY and ANTEKSTROY engineers to diagnose malfunctions or control the dryer
