Composition:

Floron 10% is an antibacterial drug in the form of a solution for oral use, containing 100 mg/ml of fdorfenikod as an active ingredient, as well as an auxiliary component - polyethylene glycol.

Medicinal form:

transparent solution of a thick consistency from light yellow to dark yellow in color, easily soluble in water, odorless.

Indications:

Floron 10% is used for the treatment of colisepticemia, pasteurellosis, diseases of the respiratory organs of bacterial etiology in birds, including caused by Omitobacterium rhinotracheaie, staphylococcus and other infectious diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to florfenicol, as well as secondary bacterial infections.

Biological properties:

Florfenicol is a derivative of thiamphenicol, in the molecule of which the hydroxyl group is replaced by a fluorine atom. Florfenicol has a bacteriostatic effect on sensitive microorganisms. In the protoplasm of a bacterial cell, it binds to the 70S ribosomal subunit, where it blocks the enzyme peptidyl transferase, which leads to the inhibition of protein synthesis in sensitive bacteria at the level of ribosomes. Florfenicol is active against bacteria that produce acetyltransferase and are resistant to chloramphenicol. Florfenicol has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity, including against Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Pasteurella multocida, Pasteurella haemolitica, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus sp., Micopiasma hyopneumoniae, Micoplasma hyorhinis, Omitobacterium rhinotracheaie, E. coli, Salmonella sp, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus sp., Shigella sp., Klebsiella sp., Proteus sp. When administered orally, florfenicol is intensively absorbed from the intestinal tract and penetrates into all organs and tissues, but does not overcome blood-tissue barriers. Bioavailability of florfenicol in birds after oral administration is 55%. The maximum concentration of the antibiotic in the blood is reached after 1 h. The therapeutic concentration of the antibiotic is preserved in the organs and tissues of birds for 24 hours. Florfenicol and its metabolites are excreted from the body mainly with droppings.

Dosage and method of application:

Floron 10% is used orally by birds with drinking water;chickens at the age of up to 4 weeks - in a daily dose of 20 mg of florfenicol per 1 kg of animal weight, which corresponds to 100 ml of the drug per 100 l of water; for the second age category of the bird - 200 ml of the drug per 100 l of water for 3 days, and for salmonellosis - for 5 days. During the treatment period,birds should receive only water containing 10% Floron.

Release form:

Medicinal product Floron 10% is available in 100 ml hermetically sealed vials made of dark glass and 1 liter in plastic bottles of the corresponding capacity.

Storage:

Store the medicinal product with caution, in a dry place protected from light, at a temperature of 5 ° C to 25 ° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. After opening the factory packaging, the medicinal product is recommended to be stored in hermetically sealed containers and used within 30 days. The medicine cannot be used after the expiration date.

Cautions:

Simultaneous use of Floron 10% with thiamphenicol and chloramphenicol is not allowed. It is not recommended to mix Floron 10% with other medicinal products.

The active substance of Floron 10% may precipitate if the concentration of florfenicol in water exceeds 1 g per 1 liter, which corresponds to 10 ml of Floron 10% per 1 liter of water.

The use of Floron 10% in laying hens is prohibited due to the release of florfenicol with the egg.

Contraindications:

Side effects of the drug in agricultural birds are not revealed.

Additional information:

Slaughter of poultry for meat is permitted no earlier than 6 days after the last application of Floron 10%. The meat of animals that were forced to be killed before the set deadline can be used to feed carnivorous animals.
