Packaging 50 grams. Dry root of lapchatka white. Medicinal plant. Roots and rhizomes of white foxglove (Potentilla alba L.) In Polissia, since the XYIII century, diseases of the thyroid gland were successfully treated with the help of white foxglove, the leaves and roots of which were used in the form of a decoction instead of tea. Thanks to this, there were practically no outbreaks of endemic goitre in the Belarusian Polissia, while in the Pripyat and Chernobyl areas they were quite significant. In addition, in Belarusian folk medicine, a decoction of foxglove herb is drunk when the uterus descends, and powder from dry grass is sprinkled on abscesses [Lavrenova, 1994]. In Western Polissia (Ukraine), the local population uses this plant for thyrotoxicosis and some forms of goiter [Smyk, Kryvenko, 1975; Smik, 1976]. In Bulgaria, a decoction of the rhizomes of this plant is used for diarrhea and gastrointestinal colic as an astringent and hemostatic agent [Modern Phytotherapy, 1988; Stoyanov, 1973]. In folk medicine, white foxglove is also used for prolapse of the uterus [Mykolaeva, 1964], heart diseases, and also for regulating menstruation [Ivanov et al., 1977]; powder from grass and rhizomes is sprinkled on abscesses [Cholovsky, 1882]. In addition, phytotherapists recommend using foxglove for the treatment of diseases of the liver, cardiovascular system and gastrointestinal tract, in particular, ulcers, as well as as an antiseptic and wound-healing agent. A decoction of the roots is used for gout, rheumatism, jaundice, dysentery.
