Mechelen cuckoos are called differently - raspberries and mechelins.
Mechelen birds have a stocky, strong build. Individuals are heavy and move quite slowly, practically do not fly.
The character of the Mechelen breed is calm, non-aggressive. It is typical for roosters to protect chickens from possible danger. The bird is able to get along very quickly with the new owner and communicate with him very well. The average weight of adult roosters reaches 5 kg, chickens - 4 kg. Egg production is up to 160 eggs.
