Layered plastics - sheet composite materials, obtained by hot pressing pre-impregnated fibrous fillers - papers and fabrics. In their production, special types of impregnated paper, cotton and non-alkali glass fabrics are used as a base (filler). For impregnation of fillers, binders based on phenol-formaldehyde, polyester, epoxy, organosilicon and other chemical bases are used. The combination of the type of filler and binder determines the variety of properties of ready-made laminated plastics - mechanical, electrical insulation, thermophysical, chemical, operational and technological.
The following main types of laminated plastics are used for electrotechnical and structural purposes: (//tractor-service.com)
