This ground cover plant is something in between moss and grass. In contrast, moss likes sunny and slightly shaded places. The stems of plants are flexible, so it is impossible to break them. Small leaves, reminiscent of soft and delicate needles, do not sting at all when walking on the lawn barefoot. Thanks to the small surface area of the leaves, the plant saves water, preventing large amounts of moisture from evaporating. That is why the bryophyte can easily survive a drought, content with rare watering. Numerous shoots are prone to easy rooting, which contributes to the formation of a dense, uniform carpet-type covering. The flowers, consisting of five white petals, are only 5 mm in diameter. Therefore, during flowering, which lasts from May to September, the impression is created that the green lawn is lightly dusted with snow. If you don't walk on the bryophyte grass cover at all, then individual plants look like small mounds. With regular walks and playing on the lawn, the grass turns into a flat carpet.
