KAS is a mixture of aqueoussolutions of ammonium nitrate andcarbamide (in the ratio of 35.4% urea, 44.3% nitrate, 19.4% water, 0.5% ammonia water). The density of liquid fertilizer is up to 1.34 kg/m3. The only nitrogen fertilizer that contains three forms of nitrogen:

- nitrate - provides instant action,

- ammonium - in the process of nitrification, it changes into the nitrate form,

- amide - as a result of the activity of soil microorganisms, it turns into an ammonium form, and then into a nitrate form.

The cost of nitrogen in KAS is the lowest, since nitrogen losses when applying KAS do not exceed 10% of the total nitrogen, while when applying granular nitrogen fertilizers, they reach 30-40%.
